From an excerpt of Li-Young Lee’s Adore, this poem encapsulates our namesake look. Describing an extremely ordinary moment—a lover sleeping beside him—the speaker watches the beloved’s hand resting near their mouth and imagines that, even in sleep, they are communicating something that consciousness prevents them from saying aloud. That quiet intimacy is reflected in our pairing of Mowalola and Rick Owens.
